Vani’s Musings

About Me

Few of my blogger friends were demanding from a long time that I write something about myself.

Well, here goes.

At least I will have the satisfaction of having attempted to do it.

I am: a Bangalorean by birth, and a very proud Indian woman.

I like: Reading Books, Listening to Old Hindi Songs, English Country Westerns, Western Classical and Indian Classical Music.

I am obsessed about: Building a Farmhouse in the Western Ghats, away from the din of the city.

I love reading these authors: Robin Cook, Sidney Sheldon, Jeffrey Archer, Enid                                           Blyton ,Bee Chi & T Sunandamma to name a few.

I love watching these movies : My Fair Lady, Padosan, Golmaal

This blog is avenue for me to voice my thoughts and a record for posterity, I would want my children and grandchildren to know what I am like.

I named this blog “White Phosphorous” keeping two objectives in mind.

White is symbolic of purity, and “Phosphorous” in Greek, means light bearing.

One objective is that I want to throw more light on Indian Culture, which according to me is very rich and very old, while being immensely vast. I want my future generations to know of our  traditions and practices, which are slowly fading away. I am also attempting to seek an insight into their observances.

The  other objective being, we as human beings, are reactive to changes in our environment, similar to most chemicals. Phosphorous, particularly, reacts very strongly when exposed to air. White Phosphorous was named so, to symbolize humanity’s constant tussles with their environs and issues concerning us.

Vani,

Saw your blog when searching “Anisuthide” MIDI version..
Good thought and keep writing.

I play keyboard, just got the Anisuthide intro music and first saranam. I lost in the intro music of this song, so lovely composed, hats off to the music director for giving us such a lovely piece of music.

I enjoy playing this song in my keyboard now, but need to produce some MIDI verison to have that background score into my keyboard.
I don’t know who do music here, but whoever does they should try to play this music.

Murali,

Good to know of your efforts…..hope your venture meets success soon….

Vani,

Hi, yes thanks for that.

I made it now, I can play the starting music and first stanza of the song now.. I yet to find notes for the second stanza.
starting music has two different instrument played..
first in Classical Guitar & then in Strings.

I did not have chance to see the movie as I live in United Kingdom.

Any one here play music in any instrument then here is the notes (in western notation) for the first Guiter piece music.

possibly in 4th Octave & 5 Octave (scale)
C D D# C b C D D# C b

GG F D# D D# G F D# D

D#FGA#C+

C D D# C b C D D# C b (5 octave)

@ Murali,thanks for the notations.
my son got inspired to try his hand at playing it on his violin/harmonium.
he has started violin about 3 months back but has been learning to play harmonium from 4 years…
please keep posting such things..
thanks again

Hi Neel3,

ha.. ya thats good tha your son is trying to play.

Murali,
Can u tell me the positions on keyboard. Interesting and want to try it out at home but dont know the keys!!!

Hope you know basis of keyboard playing.,
one octave = 7 white keys and 5 black keys. This set repeats in keyboard, if you have 61 keys keyboard, then you will have 5 octaves.

I just take one octave for our example:

B1 B2 B3 B4 B5
W1 W2 W3 W4 W5 W6 W7

If you see above, W stands for White, B stands for black keys in a typical keyboard.

In western notation the key mapping goes like this…
W1 = C, B1 = C#, W2 = D, B2 = D#, W3 = E, W4 = F, B3= F#, W5 = G, B4 = G#, W6 = A, B5 = A#, W7 = B

Original scale of this song in last two higher octave.

Hi guys, I accidently bumped into this site. Looks like of lot of kannada guys are here. Can any one give me a english transaltion or explain the song by Dr. D.R.Bendre., Nee henga Nodabyada nanna’.

I need this please.
